Profile of Mr. Tomoki Kinoshita
Mr. Kinoshita was born on December 29, 1947, in Saga, Japan. He graduated with Bachelor and Masters degrees in Precision Engineering from Chuo University, Tokyo Japan, in 1970 and 1972, respectively.
After graduating in 1972, he joined Mitsubishi Research Institution (MRI), Inc. (Tokyo) and worked his way up to the post of chief researcher, and manager of Public Systems, and Public Utilities Systems, MRI. He received the inaugural Case Study Award for “A new way of thinking for small retail site plans,” (The Operations Research Society of Japan, Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences) in 1981. He joined the Japan Research Institute (JRI) Ltd. (Tokyo) as chief researcher in 1990, and later became manager of social development research and social system research, and also a director of JRI.
From 1999 to 2008, he was a full-time professor at Nasu University (Utsunomiya Kyowa University as of 2006) and during his sabbatical year, from 2003 to 2004, he was a special advisor to the CEO and senior managing director of Toyo Shoji Co., Ltd. (Tokyo). From 2008 to 2018, he began working in the post of full-time professor at Tsukuba Gakuin University (Tsukuba, Japan).
